Styling Tips To Rock Floral Prints This Spring

My favorite thing about spring is the blooming flowers! I love the first sight of a daffodil or tulip popping out of the frozen winter ground. It’s such a great symbol of renewal and hope! Life is beginning again. Spring flowers brighten the earth and bring color to the dreary brown landscape.

I feel like the season does the same for fashion! Fresh looks and a brightening of our wardrobe! One of my favorite trends of spring is florals. It’s a simple way to brighten your look. However, it can be tricky to master. After all, no one wants to end up looking like the infamous Kim Kardashian in her head to toe floral gown. Remember that?! Haha!

So I’ve created some simple tips on how you can easily infuse floral into your spring look and look fabulous while doing it!

How To Rock Floral Prints:

1. Pick the right pattern.

Not every floral pattern is the right pattern. There are so many differing patterns and prints to pick from. The last thing you want to do is end up looking like a walking piece of wallpaper. Depending on the article of clothing, you will want to pick your pattern accordingly. Finer patterns are great for tops and skirts. Larger bold prints are pretty for dresses of varying lengths. When in doubt, go with whatever you’re comfortable with!

2. Pick one piece with floral.

Don’t go floral overboard ladies! Mix and matching prints is a definite no-no in my book. If you pick one floral piece that can be the focal point of your outfit. Wether it is a top, skirt, handbag, or pair of shoes! I’m a big fan of floral pumps for spring!

3. Add it into your accessories.

If you’re not ready to take a bold step and go for a floral dress or top, start with accessories. This is a great place to start! It’s a simple step to accessorize and you can add the pieces into a variety of outfits to add versatility. Think handbags, shoes, necklaces, and scarfs!

4. Go for the right color palettes.

Floral patterns usually involve a lot of different colors and you don’t get it right it could be pretty disastrous. Just being honest! You can’t always trust the judgement of print makers. Haha. Pastels are perfect for spring, so sticking to those hues is always a safe choice. Muted tones are also in this spring, so sticking to these colors is also a good option. One color patterns are great as well, because it adds the look of floral with a simpler touch.

In this week’s look, I decided to go for a subtle floral pattern with a pop of color. This pink lace shift dress just screams spring! I like the subtleness of the floral lace knit for spring. With the dress being the focal point of the outfit, I decided to go very simple with the accessories. I paired the dress with nude lace-up flats and simple delicate gold jewelry. The best part of this outfit was that the dress cost $5 at Marshall’s! The regular msrp tag had a retail price of $148! What a savings! I picked the dress up in the beginning of March knowing that it would be a great spring dress and a good easer dress as well. It wasn’t even out of season! You truly never know what you’re going to find on the clearance rack. So keep an eye out frugalistas!

With spring here and flowers in bloom, it’s time to step out and embrace florals ladies! I encourage you to step out and add some pretty colors and patterns to your wardrobe this spring. It’ll add life and freshness to your look!

Happy spring!
